Unilever is a global consumer goods organisation with more than 195,000 employees operating across multiple regions and time zones.

The challenge

Unilever required a scalable, long-term training solution to support the effective use of collaboration and productivity tools across a large, global workforce. With employees operating across multiple regions, time zones and functions, the challenge was to deliver consistent, high-quality learning that could adapt to different levels of digital confidence while keeping pace with continual technological change.

Alongside the introduction of new tools and features, Unilever needed to ensure employees were supported in using technology in practical, productive ways, helping them work more efficiently, collaborate more effectively and reduce friction in day-to-day tasks. This included providing sustainable learning resources to support onboarding for new starters, reduce reliance on reactive support, and embed new ways of working without disrupting business as usual.

Our approach

PWM Training partnered closely with Unilever to design and deliver a scalable, blended learning programme. This included regular scheduled online training sessions across multiple time zones, bespoke training for teams and functions with specific requirements, and adoption and communications support including roadshows, messaging and awareness content.

To support long-term learning, PWM Training also developed a comprehensive learning hub and video library, giving employees access to on-demand resources whenever they needed them. A hugely successful ‘Coffee n Learn’ bite-sized training programme was also introduced, helping staff build confidence with new tools in a practical and accessible way.

The results

The programme has delivered continuous collaboration tools training over multiple years, supporting improved adoption and more effective use of Microsoft 365 across Unilever’s global teams. By combining live training with high-quality on-demand resources, Unilever has also reduced dependency on reactive support and made learning easier to access across different time zones.

The training has received strong engagement and consistently positive feedback from end users. PWM Training remains a long-term training partner for Unilever, supporting ongoing digital change and helping employees quickly apply new tools and ways of working in their roles.
